In the event of a fall, the metal shoulder plates—an Applesaaz trademark and unique patent—allow the rider to glide and lessen the likelihood of dangerous rolling. This is a significant distinction from plastic polymers, which have a higher hold on the asphalt but wear out more quickly through abrasion.
